Robert W. "Bobby" Stewart Patent Associate

Robert W. “Bobby” Stewart is a Patent Associate at M&B IP, where he focuses his practice on intellectual property law, particularly preparing and prosecuting patent applications. He builds high-value patent portfolios for startups developing cutting-edge technologies in software and computer arts. His technical background encompasses artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, database systems, computer architecture, edge/cloud computing, enterprise SaaS, fintech, digital health, and more.
Bobby holds a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he earned a certificate in Intellectual Property Law. During law school, he served as President of the Blockchain Law Society and Outreach Chair of the Intellectual Property Law Association. His team was recognized as regional finalists in the National Patent Application Drafting Competition.
Prior to joining M&B IP, Bobby gained experience at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, a startup-focused investment bank, and Seton Hall Law’s Division of Information Technology. He is a licensed attorney in New Jersey and is certified as an Electrical and Computer Engineer-in-Training by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. He also holds a B.A. in Philosophy with a minor in Cognitive Science.
Bobby recently authored the paper “Considerations for a New AI Agency: Risks, Framework, and Inter-Agency Coordination,” exploring the regulatory and ethical implications of AI technologies.
