Justin T. Darrow is a senior patent attorney with over twenty-five years of experience in patent law.  He has practiced at national law firms and in-house.  His practice includes patent preparation and prosecution, client counseling, freedom-to-operate and invalidity opinions, invention mining, licensing, joint research agreements, teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and portfolio management.  His technologies include cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, software, cloud computing, Internet of Things, fintech, big data analytics, and radio frequency engineering.   Before patent law, he worked for over a decade in research in laser systems in radar, optical communications, the military, medicine, and 3D printing.

In government service, Justin was a patent attorney at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board involved in deciding ex parte appeals in all electrical technologies.  He was also a primary patent examiner in cybersecurity at the United States Patent and Trademark Office and served in career details at the Office of the Solicitor, the Central Reexamination Unit, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Justin holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Columbia University.  He is a registered patent attorney admitted to the New Jersey, Virginia, and District of Columbia Bars.
